Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring BLS, PALS, and strong telemetry and ventilator management skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 23-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU caring for complex cardiac patients, including VAD and heart transplant cases
• Staffing ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on patient acuity
• Night shifts available in 3x12 or 4x12 hour configurations with every other weekend required
• Float required to cardiac stepdown and general PICU units
• Use of telemetry monitoring and ventilators is expected
• Cerner EMR is used and prior experience with Cerner is required
• Position supports a major heart transplant program and complex pediatric cardiac care
• Candidates are expected to float within the hospital or to an affiliated location as needed
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
• Up to 5 days of requested time off will be auto-approved
• Previous perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month separation before being considered as a traveler

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license must be in hand for consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent pediatric ICU nursing experience
• Experience with telemetry and ventilators is mandatory
• Degree from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation
• No local candidates accepted for this position
