Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for day shifts requiring a multi-state or AZ RN license, ACLS, and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital-based Operating Room in a rural setting
• Typical surgical specialties include Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, General, Ophthalmology, and Dental
• RN will circulate in all specialty areas and is encouraged to obtain scrubbing experience
• 10-hour day shifts from 6:30am to 5pm, four days per week with on-call requirements
• Patient care includes both inpatient and outpatient/ambulatory surgical procedures
• Must be prepared to work odd hours and respond to emergency cases on short notice
• Primary responsibility is the perioperative care and management of surgical patients using the nursing process
• Work includes assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient interventions
• Required to complete hospital orientation every two weeks upon assignment start
• COVID and flu vaccination exemptions may be accepted with proper documentation
• Limited shared housing options may be available on site at additional cost
• Housing application must be submitted two weeks before start date
• No family or pets allowed in hospital-provided housing
• Completion of fingerprinting required before starting the assignment
• Experience working with a culturally diverse patient and staff population

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license from any state, compact states accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing and/or operating room experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• PALS certification required within 6 months of hire
• NIH Stroke Scale must be completed within 6 months of hire
• CNOR certification required within 1 year of hire
• TNCC certification required within 2 years of hire
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
