Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with oncology exposure, Ohio or compact licensure, and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit specializing in oncology patients
• Patient population includes soft tissue malignancy and those needing continuous cardiac monitoring for chemotherapy administration
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4
• Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• 12-hour day and night rotating shifts, scheduling reviewed every 4 weeks
• Specialized equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
• Uses Epic EMR, Epic experience required
• Oncology experience is preferred but not required
• Responsibilities include chemotherapy administration, managing comorbidities, and symptom management
• High emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
• May care for patients with ports, PICCs, and those requiring blood products
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required based on departmental needs

Requirements

• Active RN license in Ohio or compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Skills in dysrhythmia interpretation, port access, arterial and central line management, blood product administration, IV starts, assisting with chest tube procedures, high flow nasal cannula, and arterial blood gas interpretation
