Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with ARRT (MR) certification and at least 1 year of MRI experience for a 13-week acute care assignment.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care hospital MRI department with 3 scanners in both hospital and outpatient settings
- Patient population includes routine, prostate, breast MRI, and patients with pacemakers, implants, and stimulators
- Average case volume of 15-20 scans per scanner per day
- Department uses GE and Siemens MRI equipment
- EMR is Epic and PACS is Fuji Synapse
- Five 8-hour shifts per week, rotating between 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Rotating weekends and rotating call required
- May float between hospital and outpatient facility
- Perform routine and specialized MRI exams, including prostate, breast, and device scans
- Black scrubs required and not provided
- Department-specific orientation provided at start of assignment
- No self-scheduling available
- Returning travelers must have a 2-year break if previously employed with WVU Medicine
- Travelers cannot work within WVU Medicine for more than one year without a 2-year break
- No local travelers; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
Requirements
- Current ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required
- Active BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum of 1 year recent MRI experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- West Virginia state licensure as an MRI Technologist required if applicable
- Must be able to start IVs
- Experience with Epic EMR and Fuji Synapse PACS preferred

Schedule could use some work, alternating weekends vs every 4th weekend. The hospital could be cleaner. The equipment works but is limited to two rooms for all patients, inpatient, outpatient, and ER- 2 rooms with 2 portables.
