Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Float Pool position in Santa Fe, NM, working night shifts in a regional medical center setting with a current NM or Compact RN license required.

Details

• Position is based in the Nursing Float Pool department of a regional medical center
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 12-hour shifts
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NM RN license or current Compact state RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• All certifications must be active and not expired
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served
• Ability to handle emergency and crisis situations
• Physical ability to perform prolonged standing and walking, heavy patient positioning and transfers, and repetitive bending, kneeling, reaching, and crouching
• Visual and hearing acuity within normal or correctable limits; manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required
• US Social Security Number required for consideration

• Coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population across assigned float pool units
• Ensures quality care is delivered in a safe and efficient manner consistent with unit standards
• Communicates clearly and in a manner appropriate to the developmental age of the patient
• Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients' rights in the delivery of care
• Work environment involves exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and x-rays
• Schedule may vary with flexibility required due to unexpected changes or emergencies
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a radius rule; local candidate eligibility depends on the specific position
