Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position requiring an active Alaska RN license and a minimum of 3 years of Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Hospital Med/Surg unit with 31 beds
• 12-hour day shifts
• On-call as needed
• Meditech EMR system in use
• OBIX and Pyxis Supply Stations also used on the unit
• Manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing
• Orientation includes Meditech and OBIX training over 3 days, followed by unit-specific orientation
• RNs are required to complete on-site Medication Testing within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Active Alaska (AK) state RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS and HS AED
• Minimum 3 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• Two professional references required for consideration: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the specialty within the last 3 years
