Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel contract requiring a SC or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Small community hospital setting with 28 inpatient beds
• Medical-Surgical unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend requirement with holiday rotation
• No on-call required
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required
• Charting system: Epic
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront and is subject to facility approval based on need
• Orientation modules are completed prior to start date and average approximately 4 hours
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free parking is available on-site
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak months are August and September

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required (must be in hand prior to start)
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
