Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel MRI Technologist with 2+ years of experience for an evening shift contract at an acute care Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital in Roanoke, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Works in an acute care teaching hospital that is a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, and a certified stroke center
  • Settings include adult acute care, adult outpatient, and ER/Trauma
  • Imaging includes abdomen/pelvis, spine, head and neck, musculoskeletal, and a wide range of special imaging procedures
  • Siemens equipment used; Siemens experience is required
  • Charting in Epic; Epic experience is required
  • Schedule is 4x10-hour evening shifts (1:00 PM–11:00 PM) or 4x9-hour shifts (2:00 PM–11:00 PM), Monday–Friday with a random weekday off
  • No on-call or holiday coverage required
  • May be required to float to nearby affiliated clinic locations in the Roanoke area
  • Perform MRI examinations across a broad range of body areas including brain, spine, MSK, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and head/neck
  • Preferred skills include CINE/CSF flow studies, spectroscopy, image post-processing (ADC mapping, subtraction), and various MRA/MRV studies
  • All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application
  • The facility reserves the right to call off 1 shift per 2-week period

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of MRI Technologist experience
  • Current BLS required; ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT required — license required if applicable
  • Level I Trauma experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Siemens MRI equipment required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skills required include: Gradient Echo Imaging, MIP, Multiplanar Reconstruction (MPR), Perfusion, Spin Echo, Surface Coils, T-1 and T-2 Weighted Imaging, Diffusion (non-brain), Abdomen/Pelvis, Spine, Head and Neck, and Musculoskeletal imaging
  • Ability to perform contrast media preparation and/or administration, and start peripheral IVs
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Must reside outside the facility's local radius — candidates who meet the radius requirement are eligible for the travel pay rate
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
