Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience, Epic proficiency, and broad procedural competency including vascular, neuro, and genitourinary interventions for a 4x10 day shift assignment at an academic medical center in St. Louis, MO.
Responsibilities
- Interventional Radiology department within a 356-bed non-profit academic and research medical center affiliated with Saint Louis University School of Medicine, providing tertiary care for the east Missouri region
- Inpatient, outpatient, and adult ICU patient populations
- Procedures include stent placement, angioplasty, angiograms, embolization, paracentesis, thoracentesis, nephrostomy, drainages, biopsies, venous access, TIPS, carotid angiography, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, vertebroplasty, discogram, IVC filter placement, ERCP, gastrostomy tube placement, radio embolization, kyphoplasty, and upper/lower extremity vascular and neurological studies
- Equipment includes PACS, C-arm, contrast injector systems (ACIST preferred), pushable/detachable coils, micro catheters, micro wires, and snare kits
- Siemens imaging equipment on site
- Epic EMR — experience required
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Call is assigned an average of 10 days per month, including weekends
- No floating outside of scope
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- All travelers must shave prior to fit testing — CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided and personal CAPRs/PAPRs are not permitted at this facility; failure to comply may result in cancellation
- Travelers cannot work past 1 cumulative year at this facility as a traveler; a 6-month break is required before returning
- Pre-start orientation modules are required and take approximately 1 hour for allied health professionals
- Scrubs are provided
- Onsite parking available at no cost
- Any time-off requests must be submitted with the initial application; additional requests after confirmation are at the manager's discretion
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
- Experience in outpatient, inpatient, and adult ICU settings required
- Teaching hospital experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Proficiency with PACS, C-arm, contrast administration, and biopsies required
- Experience with pushable/detachable coils, micro catheters, micro wires, and snare kits required
- Epic EMR experience required
- ARRT (R) and BLS required; ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible
- License required if applicable
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
