Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week contract at a Level I trauma-designated academic medical center in St. Louis, MO.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cardiac cath lab at a 356-bed non-profit academic medical center and tertiary care facility affiliated with Saint Louis University School of Medicine
• Caseload varies from 4 to 16 cases per technologist per day
• Procedures include left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, Impella insertion, ASD closures, TAVR, Watchman, IVC filter placement, and EP studies
• Preferred procedures include cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, pacemaker insertion, AICD insertion/programming, LAA closure, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and arrhythmia induction
• Responsibilities include scrubbing to maintain a sterile field and circulating
• Epic EMR required
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Approximately 7–8 on-call shifts per month, including 1 weekend call shift
• May be required to float within clinical scope to meet facility needs
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Clinicians who have previously worked at this facility as a traveler cannot return until a 6-month break has been taken
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; additional RTO after signing is at the manager's discretion
• An OSHA Respirator Clearance is required prior to start; candidates must be clean-shaven for fit testing, as CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided and personal PAPRs/CAPRs are not permitted on site
• Pre-start orientation modules are required and take approximately 1 hour for allied health clinicians
• Scrubs are provided

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac cath lab
• Current BLS and ARRT or RCIS certification required; ACLS and CCI RCES/RCIS preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• License required if applicable
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
