Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital, requiring 3 years of ER experience and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department (ER) in a short-term acute care hospital setting
• Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 733 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the hospital or to a sister campus depending on booking
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used; experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub color: royal blue and white
• RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a maximum of 4 days and approval of only 1 holiday per contract
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Night shift travelers may extend up to twice; after reaching the extension limit, travelers must wait 6 months before reapplying
• Pre-start orientation modules required (approximately 4–10 hours)

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible
