Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ER experience and active Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department (ER) setting within a large short-term acute care hospital (733 staffed beds)
• Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital or to a sister campus based on assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub color: royal blue and white
• RTO is capped at 4 days, with approval of only 1 holiday during the assignment
• RTO requests are subject to manager's discretion
• Pre-start online modules are required (approximately 4–10 hours, completed before the first day)
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Night shift travelers may extend up to twice; after reaching the extension limit, a 6-month gap is required before reapplying
• Background or license issues occurring within the past year will not be approved

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licensure not accepted
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
• BLS required (standard for RN positions)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this travel position
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
