Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and the ability to pass an advanced dysrhythmia competency assessment.
Responsibilities
- Inpatient telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:3-4
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Uses Epic EMR (required)
- On-unit telemetry monitoring with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Floating to different units may be required
- 13-week contract
- Nursing care responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, medication management (including cardiac and vasoactive drips), feeding tube care, tracheostomy care, wound care, and management of respiratory support devices (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tubes)
- First-time travelers are accepted provided they have 2+ years of RN experience on a like or higher acuity unit
- Former staff must wait 2 years before returning as a travel nurse
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are eligible to work the assignment but will be placed at a reduced local pay rate
- Requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Lab work must be scheduled within 2 days of signing and completed within 2 weeks of signing
Requirements
- Active KY RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience on a telemetry or like/higher acuity unit
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass an advanced dysrhythmia competency test
- Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Date of birth required for consideration
