Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a minimum of 18 months of ICU experience, Epic proficiency, and an active Ohio or compact RN license for a night shift travel contract.

Responsibilities

• Community hospital ICU setting
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a, 3x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Floating to Med/Surg may be required when ICU census is low
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Epic EMR is required
• Skills required include cardiovascular care, arterial line management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, ventilator management, PA/Swan-Ganz monitoring, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Manages critically ill patients including those requiring ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, and continuous IV sedation
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• All requested time off must be disclosed prior to or during the interview process
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent or per diem staff are not eligible to return for 1 year from their previous end date
• The facility is 100% tobacco-free — no smoking or tobacco use permitted on site

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or compact license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start
• Minimum of 18 months of permanent ICU experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two supervisory references (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) in the ICU specialty required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
• No open background cases; no license violations accepted
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
