Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of 2 years of experience and dual echo and vascular registry credentials for a 13-week day shift contract.

Responsibilities

• Day shift schedule: 5x8.5-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• On-call availability required Monday through Sunday
• Work settings include adult acute care, adult outpatient, ED, and ICU environments
• Procedures include adult echo, M-Mode, 3D echo, bubble study, imaging with contrast agents, pharmacologic stress echo, portable studies, RVIT, RVOT, routine echo, TEE, and treadmill stress echo
• Proficiency with GE and Toshiba equipment and PACS system required
• Altera EMR experience preferred but not required
• 13-week contract
• Perform a broad range of echocardiographic and vascular studies across inpatient and outpatient settings, including ICU and ED
• Observe isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana; a positive result is an automatic cancellation with no exceptions — candidates should avoid all substances that could result in a positive screen, including CBD products, prior to and during the assignment
• Candidates must be available to complete required pre-employment lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer
• Both echo and vascular registries required; credentials accepted through ARDMS or CCI (e.g., RDCS, RVT, CCI RCS, CCI RVS)
• Current BLS and ACLS required
• Experience performing procedures on patients in ICU and ED settings
• Proficiency with adult echo, TEE, stress echo (pharmacologic and treadmill), contrast imaging, and portable studies
• Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• License required if applicable
• 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
