Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at an acute care hospital, requiring telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation experience with a SC or compact RN license in hand.

Responsibilities

• 286-bed acute care hospital setting
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit with telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45a–7:15p)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Charting via Epic
• Free parking on site
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be fully licensed prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Telemetry experience required, including telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Community hospital experience preferred
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
