Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a 5th Floor South Orthopedics unit, requiring a CA RN license and prior orthopedic nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit focused on orthopedic patients
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required
• On-call as needed
• Floating required to other units within scope of practice, including potential float to Rehab Units at alternate campuses
• Travelers should expect approximately 1.5 hours notice prior to shift start when floating is required
• A shuttle is provided when floating to another campus
• 13-week contract
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care plan development, patient and family education, and care coordination across transitions
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver patient-centered care
• Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR)
• May serve as a clinical resource and mentor to newly hired staff
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates; candidates within 50 miles should inquire about local rates
• Former employees or travelers must have been away from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Only 1 holiday RTO request will be approved for the duration of the contract
• 2 supervisor references from within the past two years are required for consideration
• Copies of all certifications are required for consideration

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior orthopedic nursing experience required
