Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN for a 4-week night shift travel contract requiring Epic proficiency and a full suite of emergency certifications including TNCC and PALS.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Room (ER) unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population ranges from neonate to geriatric
• 12-hour night shifts, 3:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Alternating schedule of 3x12s one week and 4x12s the next (36–48 hrs/week)
• Monday through Sunday scheduling; no block schedules
• Minimum every other weekend required; schedule may be adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
• Epic EMR experience required
• This position is interview-to-offer (IVS)
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Complete work history including bed count, EMR, facility type, and trauma level is required
• Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires November through April
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local; those living 51–100 miles away qualify for the travel rate (distance measured in a straight line, not driving distance)

Requirements

• Active RN license; NY license (or proof of pending NY license) required, VT license not required at time of consideration
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC required (or proof of enrolled class with date for TNCC; NIHSS must be obtained prior to start)
• Preferred certifications: CEN, ENPC, CPEN, ABLS
• Minimum 2 years of ER RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
• Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required (at least one from within the past 6 months; one from within the past year of employment)
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required; public transportation is not accessible in this area
