Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CICU RN for a 13-week day shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in Columbia, SC, requiring an active SC or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Cardiac ICU (CICU) unit within an acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:1–2
• Every other weekend required (12 weekend shifts during the contract)
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required
• May be placed on call for low census; no additional call shifts required
• Charting via Epic EMR
• CRRT experience (Prismax) preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position, depending on experience
• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Non-local candidates are prioritized; local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Online modules are completed prior to start date
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free parking is available via a parking pass distributed at badge pickup; garage clearance is limited to average-sized SUVs and trucks
• During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or multi-state compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
