Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist with inpatient experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Massachusetts rehabilitation hospital, with BLS certification and Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient physical therapy unit at a rehabilitation hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Epic EMR used for charting
• 13-week assignment
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, establishing plans of care, administering manual exercises, and instructing patients in physical activities and use of assistive devices
• Evaluates treatment effectiveness at various stages and adjusts plans to maximize patient benefit
• Discusses evaluation findings, goals, and treatment plans with patients and their families
• Supervises PTAs in accordance with organizational policy and state regulations
• Provides in-service education for nursing personnel as needed
• Participates in hospital-wide quality and process improvement initiatives
• Time is tracked using UKG/Kronos
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible but may be subject to a reduced pay rate
• Parking is not validated at Boston-area locations; public parking is available at candidate expense; other locations may also have parking costs
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program required; for licensure prior to 2016, a bachelor's or master's degree is acceptable; licensure from 2016 onward requires a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
• Active Massachusetts PT license required; conditional licenses not accepted — license required if applicable
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted
