Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week contract in a Monday–Friday daytime schedule.

Responsibilities

• Rehabilitation therapy setting with PT and OT services
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; no weekends
• 13-week contract assignment
• Serves a broad patient population including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patients
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, and coordination of care across all age groups
• Serves as a liaison between administration, physicians, patients, and other healthcare providers
• Involves training nursing and other hospital staff through on-the-job instruction
• Responsible for accurate and timely documentation in accordance with current standards and policies
• Oversees departmental operations including equipment safety, cleanliness, and compliance with regulatory standards
• Participates in CQI and performance improvement activities
• Professional attire and adherence to dress code required
• Additional language proficiency is a plus

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in physical or occupational therapy required; 3+ years preferred
• Current California PT or OT licensure required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Strong knowledge of therapy modalities, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot therapy equipment
• Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in crisis situations
