Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of IR experience and ARRT certification (CI, VI, or CV) for a 13-week contract at an acute care facility in Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Interventional Radiology department in an acute care hospital setting
  • Position is IR-specific — general radiology experience does not apply
  • Monday through Friday schedule, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
  • Shift hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some flexibility
  • May float to a nearby sister hospital
  • Assists radiologists in performing complex diagnostic and invasive IR procedures, including setup and operation of sterile equipment, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment
  • Responsible for patient preparation, contrast media preparation, IV solution setup, and monitoring patient condition before, during, and after procedures
  • Performs PACS image review and exception resolution to ensure high-quality image delivery
  • Completes all study indexing and documentation within the Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Applies ALARA radiation protection principles including patient shielding and appropriate equipment settings
  • May assist in training new personnel and students assigned to the department
  • Online orientation modules must be completed onsite prior to start date, typically one week before
  • Any RTO requests made after an offer is accepted will need to be discussed with management once the assignment begins
  • No blocked scheduling

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
  • Prior experience in a Trauma Level 1 facility required
  • Cath Lab experience required
  • ARRT certification with advanced registry in one of the following: Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI), Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV)
  • BLS certification required — must be AHA-issued
  • Additional ARRT specialization certifications are highly preferred
  • Active Michigan state license required if applicable
  • High school diploma or GED required; must maintain required hours of continuing medical education
  • COVID vaccination is required to work at this facility
