Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg Tele experience (or 3 years of Tele experience), prior travel experience, and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• 12-hour night shifts, scheduled Monday through Sunday
• Every other weekend requirement at minimum, with schedule adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
• Block schedules are not available for any reason
• Bedside procedures include NG tube insertion, peripheral IV insertion, and telemetry strip interpretation
• Epic EMR is used on this unit
• Provide telemetry-monitored medical-surgical nursing care in an acute care hospital environment
• Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type must be provided — all employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Bi-weekly orientations are held on Mondays
• This is an interview-to-offer (ITS) position — no formal interview process

Requirements

• Active RN license — VT or Compact license accepted; NY candidates may be considered with proof of a pending NY license
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Telemetry certification preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg Tele experience OR 3 years of Tele experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required — must have completed at least 2 travel assignments at 300+ bed facilities, or have previous experience at a UVMHN acute care facility
• Epic experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
• Reliable personal transportation is required — public transportation is not accessible in this area, and all-season or snow tires are strongly recommended from November through April
• At least two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor are required — one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
