Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in California, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Labor & Delivery unit within a 377-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• No weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement
• Floating between like units within the facility is required
• Block scheduling may be considered at the manager's discretion
• Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
• Free parking is available on-site
• Scrubs of any color are accepted; L&D and OR scrubs are provided
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; post-offer RTO requests may be denied
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Advanced AWHONN, and LA Fire Card
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
