Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a 15-week travel assignment in Hawaii, requiring an active HI RN license and a strong background in stroke, STEMI, and trauma activations.

Responsibilities

• Hospital emergency department setting with an attached skilled nursing facility
• Variable shifts of 8 or 12 hours, scheduled at 80 hours per 2-week period
• Shift (days/evenings/nights) determined by the manager upon arrival
• One on-call shift required per roster cycle
• At least one weekend off guaranteed per roster cycle
• Floating to other units may be required based on nursing administration direction, limited to areas within the nurse's clinical competency
• EMR: Meditech
• Equipment includes LifePak defibrillators, Braun IV pumps, Philips Monitoring Systems, and Motorola Radio Systems
• Familiarity with stroke, STEMI, and trauma activations required
• Candidates must arrive at the facility the Friday before their Monday start date to complete employee health and HR clearance — no exceptions
• All compliance documents must be uploaded no later than one week prior to the start date
• HI RN license must be in hand at the time of the employee health and HR clearance appointment
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position

Requirements

• Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon acceptance
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Preferred (not required) certifications: NCI and Procedural Sedation
• Proficient IV insertion skills required
• Familiarity with core measures and National Patient Safety Goals
• Familiarity with AIDET and Press Ganey patient experience frameworks
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
