Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) day shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent PCU or ICU experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• Day shift position: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 13-week contract with every-other-weekend requirement and rotating holiday coverage
• Progressive Critical Care Unit caring for high-acuity medical and surgical patients
• Patient population includes respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications
• Average patient load of 3 high-acuity patients
• Competency in advanced hemodynamics required, including pressor management per titration protocols
• Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombolytics, A-lines, CVP monitoring, EVD, ortho traction, and infection prevention protocols required
• Familiarity with HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and Oxypendent required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a PCU or related specialty
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required
• Epic EMR experience required — candidates without Epic experience will not be considered
• Candidates must have a US Social Security Number — Canadian SIN not accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Flu vaccination required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal or religious declinations will not be accepted

Additional Information

• Nurses with large-scale adult PCU experience and/or community hospital ICU experience are well-suited for this unit
• A competency test must be completed within 24 hours of consideration — ensure your email address is current
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Travel pairs are not allowed for this position
