Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology position at a large Level I Trauma Center Academic Medical Center, with night shifts and a preference for oncology and chemotherapy experience.

Responsibilities

Hospital setting: large Level I Trauma Center Academic Medical Center with 1,500+ staffed beds
Medical Surgical Oncology unit
Average patient ratio of 1:4
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Every other weekend required
No on-call requirements
Floating within scope of practice required to meet facility needs
Charting via Epic EMR
Block scheduling accommodated
Parking available at $125/month
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Royal blue scrubs required
Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
COVID vaccine required; religious and medical exemptions accepted
Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being eligible as a traveler
RTO up to 7 days may be auto-approved; RTO exceeding 7 days or during holidays requires facility approval
Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as required by the facility

Requirements

Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending licensure accepted
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
Prior experience in a large Trauma Center setting required
Oncology (ONC) and chemotherapy administration experience preferred but not required
Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
One professional reference required for consideration
