Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel contract requiring Impella and CRRT/NXStage proficiency and Epic experience.

Responsibilities

• Hospital ICU setting with float requirements to all ICUs, as well as the ED and PACU to care for ICU-level patients; occasional float to MS/PCU units with 1:4 ratios
• Typical patient ratio is 1:2, which may flex to 1:3
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• No on-call responsibilities
• Nurses are responsible for all lab draws, EKGs, and line starts
• Equipment includes: Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA Pumps, Servo I Ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis Machines, Edwards Lifesciences Cardiac Monitors, Medtronic EVD Management Systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE Monitors, Hill-Rom Beds, Pyxis Medication Stations, and Veratron Bladder Scanners
• Epic EMR experience required
• CPI certification can be obtained at the facility for $100 if not already held
• Nurses must be prepared to care for isolation patients, including COVID-19 patients; knowing your N95 mask size is recommended
• Former permanent employees of any LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
• RTO is limited to 5 days for the duration of the contract

Requirements

• Active LA or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; CVICU experience highly preferred
• Impella experience required
• CRRT/NXStage experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Epic EMR experience required
• A supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months is required for consideration
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• Any gaps in work history exceeding 30 days must be listed and explained
