Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg unit with night shift schedules, welcoming first-time travelers with at least 1 year of experience and a NM or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes stroke and post-surgical patients
- Telemetry central monitoring is available 24/7; ability to interpret dysrhythmias is not required
- Uses Epic EMR (experience preferred but not required)
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (18:30–07:00)
- Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekend availability required as needed
- Floating is required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups will be accepted
- Up to 3 days of RTO may be approved; no RTO will be approved during the first week of orientation
- Scrubs of any solid color are acceptable; logos are not permitted
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
