Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an adult Emergency Department position at a Level 1 trauma teaching facility, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ED experience and Epic proficiency on a night shift schedule.
Responsibilities
- Adult Emergency Department at a Level 1 trauma and academic teaching hospital
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must not have been employed by VCU Health within the previous 12 months
- This is a drug-free and tobacco-free workplace; smoking is not permitted anywhere on campus
- Natural nail policy is enforced at this facility
- Any time-off requests must be submitted upfront; requests not listed at time of submission may be declined
- Travelers are not guaranteed holidays off
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program required (ACEN or CCNE accreditation accepted; diploma, Associates, or BSN all accepted)
- BSN preferred
- Fingerprinting required for all ED candidates per the Code of Virginia (§37.1-183.3); results must be cleared prior to start — average turnaround is 15–20 business days
- 2 professional references at supervisor level or above required for consideration
