Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Inpatient Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a medical rehabilitation unit inside a trauma hospital, with a focus on stroke patient care.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient medical rehabilitation unit located within a trauma hospital
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM or 7:00–3:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch break
• Caseload of approximately 8 treatments per day
• Patient population is primarily stroke patients (~40%), with a wide variety of other cases
• Full OT gym with a kitchen and a wide range of therapy technology available
• One Saturday per month for 4 hours, with flexible scheduling for that shift
• No on-call or float requirements
• Charting via Cerner
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration between PT, OT, and SLP teams
• Unit provides OT-branded T-shirts; scrub colors accepted are anything except blue, forest green, or maroon (reserved for nursing staff)
• Two professional references required for consideration
• No RTO restrictions

Requirements

• Current, active WV OT license required to practice (pending state license accepted for consideration)
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• NBCOT certification required
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
