Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring Cerner proficiency and experience with peripheral and coronary circulator procedures.

Responsibilities

• Acute care cardiac cath lab and IR setting with 4 procedure rooms
• Averages 15–20 cases per day including STEMIs, as this is a STEMI receiving center
• Procedures utilize equipment including Siemens/Philips imaging systems, laser, rotablator, nitric oxide, IVUS, Impella, IABP, FFR, and AngioJet
• Ventilator support is available with an RT present for those cases; pharmacy is in-house 24/7
• Charting is done in Cerner — experience is required
• Shifts are 8, 10, or 12 hours; day shift focus with 10-hour shifts noted
• Every other weekend required
• One night of call per week and one weekend call approximately every 6th weekend; call crew stays until all cases are complete and receives a day off after call
• No floating required
• Cardiologist and respiratory therapist are available on standby or working 24/7
• A charge nurse is present during the day; a circulator nurse serves in a charge capacity after hours
• Orientation is approximately 1–2 days on the unit
• All required online modules must be completed prior to arrival — candidates who have not completed modules will be pushed back with no exceptions
• The agency must provide a radiation badge for the traveler
• Scrubs are provided
• Familiarity with Siemens/Philips cath lab equipment and Merge charting system is a plus but not required
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates who worked PRN through outside firms will be considered

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required
• Experience with peripheral and coronary circulator roles required
• Active ARRT certification, BLS, and Fluoroscopy Permit required — RCIS is not accepted
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Experience with critically ill patients required
• X-ray experience required
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
