Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position at an academic medical center in Albany, NY, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Day shift position, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Float pool role covering Med/Surg units
• Large academic medical center (600+ beds)
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates with less than 2 years of Med/Surg experience must pass a competency test (2 attempts allowed)
• More than 3 call-outs during the contract period may result in termination; make-up shifts must be completed within 6 weeks of the last call-out
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration
• Travel pairs are not permitted for this position

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Experience must be from a 600+ bed academic hospital if less than 2 years (with passing competency test score)
• Epic EMR experience required — candidates without Epic experience will not be considered
• All certifications (BLS, etc.) must be from AHA or RQI
• US Social Security Number required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Flu vaccine required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal or religious declinations will not be accepted
