Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Interventional Technologist with 3+ years of hospital-based Cardiac Cath/IR experience for a 13-week acute care assignment.

Details

  • Acute care hospital Cardiac Cath Lab setting with 3 suites
  • Versatile lab that primarily performs interventional cases with cardiac inpatient add-ons, including STEMI preparation and IABP stabilization
  • Common cases include compression fractures, venous access, hydronephrosis, chest pain, pulmonary hypertension, SOB, PE, DVT, and gastric ulcer
  • Average of 4–5 cases per day
  • Charting in Epic and Apollo cardiac charting system
  • Siemens equipment used
  • 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Cardiologist hours Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM; on-call coverage 4:00 PM – 7:00 AM and all day Saturday/Sunday
  • Call team covers three campuses after hours and on weekends; campuses are located within 6–15 miles of each other
  • Minimum of 10 weeknight call shifts and 2 weekend call shifts (1 IR and 1 Cardiac) required
  • Holiday call coverage is expected
  • 30-minute call response time to home campus; ASAP response expected for the other campuses
  • Daily floating and on-call floating to all three campuses as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a hospital-based Cardiac Cath/IR setting
  • Active RCIS, BLS (AHA), and ACLS (AHA) certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted
  • License required if applicable; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses will not be accepted
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; a valid driver's license is required for consideration and will be used to verify permanent address
  • Candidates may not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Intra-procedural duties include circulating, supply management, medication administration, and sedation
  • Team of 3 Cath Lab Techs supported by a supervising charge nurse on each shift
  • Orientation is approximately 1 week, including an on-call buddy call shift
  • Surgical greens (scrub color) required
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result to contract termination
  • Radiation badge provided by the facility
  • Candidates who were previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms at CommonSpirit facilities will be considered
  • RTO must be submitted upfront; a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract is allowed — additional RTO will not be approved
  • Candidates ideally live centrally between the three campuses given the on-call response time requirements
