Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an outpatient oncology clinic position at a cancer center in Connecticut, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, prior travel experience, and an ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy provider certification.
Responsibilities
- Outpatient clinic setting within a medical oncology and hematology oncology coverage pool
- 8-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No weekend, on-call, or major holiday requirements
- Position works closely with the chemotherapy infusion room nursing team but does not directly administer infusion therapies
- 13-week assignment
- Responsibilities include phone call triage and coordinating with the clinical team to address patient care needs
- Must be comfortable working in a team-based environment alongside nursing staff in a busy oncology clinic
- Exposure to communicable/infectious diseases is possible in this role
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- May be required to work additional hours on an as-needed basis to support unit coverage
Requirements
- Active CT RN license or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- ONS Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Provider Card required
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with oncology patients in an outpatient ambulatory care or outpatient clinic setting required
- Ability to lift and restrain patients as needed
- Strong phone triage and clinical problem-solving skills
