Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an OB/LDRP position in Alaska, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent LDRP experience and an active Alaska RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in an OB unit with 4 LDRP rooms and 5 Nursery/Postpartum beds
• Patient population includes laboring, delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients, as well as nursery patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios follow national standards based on type of labor and individual patient needs
• Equipment used includes Meditech, OBIX, Pyxis Supply Stations, and bedside fetal monitors
• Meditech is the EMR used on the unit
• 12-hour night shifts
• On-call required as needed
• No floating to other units or departments
• Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and standards of practice
• Orientation includes 3 days of Meditech and OBIX training plus unit-specific orientation
• Medication competency testing must be completed on-site within the first two weeks
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, STABLE, and HS AED
• Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP experience required
• 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from the position's specialty within the last 3 years
