Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical night shift position requiring at least 1 year of recent experience and an active NM or Compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• 32-bed Medical/Surgical unit in an inpatient hospital setting
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (18:30–07:00)
• 36- or 48-hour weekly shift options available
• 6 weekend shifts required within every 6-week period
• Floating required to like units
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR used; experience preferred
• Rapid response team activation is part of the unit workflow
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups will be accepted
• Up to 3 days of RTO may be approved; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
