Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) with at least 1 year of experience for an acute care radiology position requiring proficiency in general X-ray, portables, OR, and fluoroscopy.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital radiology department with 3 general X-ray rooms, 1 fluoroscopy room, 2 portable units, and 3 C-arms
• Department averages approximately 110 studies per day
• Staffing includes 6–7 techs on days, 3–4 on evenings, and 1 tech on midnights; the traveler may be the sole tech on overnight shifts
• Studies and procedures include general X-ray, portable imaging, OR cases (cystos, ortho, GI), and fluoroscopy cases (ortho and GI)
• Equipment includes OEC C-arms, GE AMX portables with DR-Konica, and diagnostic room equipment from Del Medical, Siemens, and Philips
• EMR: Cerner (Community Works); PACS: Intellirad/Intelliconnect
• 10-hour varied shifts covering days, afternoons, and midnights; no call required
• Day shift hours include 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, and 9:30 AM–5:00 PM; afternoon shift 2:30–11:00 PM; midnight shift 12:00–8:00 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating between general radiology, fluoroscopy, and the OR is required
• No IV starts required
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying; cumulative experience applies, and travelers may not work within the WVU system for more than one year total without a 2-year break
• Orientation consists of 5 shifts with a preceptor; imaging director and manager are available M–F during daytime hours and by phone at all times, with a lead tech present most afternoon shifts
• Radiologist is in-house until 5:00 PM and on call thereafter; VRad covers remote interpretation from 2:00–6:00 AM
• Holiday rotation coverage may be required
• Any color of clean, professional scrubs is acceptable; permanent staff wear Emerald Green (optional for travelers to match)

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of radiology technologist experience
• Current ARRT certification and BLS required
• WV X-ray License required (license required if applicable)
• WV CARES registration required prior to start
• Must be proficient in general X-ray, portable imaging, OR cases, and fluoroscopy
• A copy of an unexpired driver's license is required for consideration
