Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience in a large or high-volume hospital setting.
Details
- 30-bed Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) providing care to a mixed Med/Surg patient population
- Travel nurses function in a standard Med/Surg nursing care role — not in an educator or preceptor capacity
- Patient-to-nurse ratio of 5–6:1
- 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week
- 4 weekend shifts required per month
- Block scheduling is generally not approved
Requirements
- Active RN license — GA or Compact license required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Experience in a large, high-volume, or Level 1 trauma hospital required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-acuity facilities will not be considered
- Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced, high-acuity patient situations

- This is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center with a complex and diverse patient population
- No RTO (time off requests) will be approved for this assignment
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- A positive attitude and timely, professional conduct are strongly emphasized by the facility
