Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 2 years of recent experience and a minimum of one completed prior travel assignment.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Med/Surg unit functioning as an overflow, post-surgical, and observation unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6 or 1:7
• Unit is transitioning to a team nursing model with LPN support
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may be required, though cross-campus floating is rare
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; RTO requests made after an offer is extended will not be submitted for approval
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment period, travelers must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be worked
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler

Requirements

• Active RN license in Tennessee or a Compact (NLC) state — no pending licensure accepted
• At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required (3+ years preferred)
• At least one completed prior travel assignment required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Current BLS certification required
• ADN or higher required for this position
• Driver's license required for consideration
