Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Ultrasound Sonographer with at least 1 year of sonography experience for a 13-week overnight weekend assignment.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based ultrasound department
• 3x12 hour overnight shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Charting performed in Epic EMR
• Produces high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation in accordance with established radiology department standards
• Maintains competency across a variety of imaging equipment and technology through ongoing assessments
• Upholds patient safety guidelines and fosters teamwork through effective communication
• Maintains flexibility to staff various work locations and shift configurations
• COVID vaccination and booster required for eligibility
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in sonography
• Graduate of an accredited sonography or radiography program
• ARDMS registration in RVT or RDMS (Abdominal or OB/GYN) required; registry-eligible candidates must obtain RVT or RDMS within 6 months and both within 12 months of employment
• Third certification (Abdominal or OB/GYN) must be completed within 18 months; RDMS (Breast) required within 24 months of competency for those performing breast imaging
• Current BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross
• Active license required if applicable
• Ability to work varied hours, shift lengths, and respond to on-call pager
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
