Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) position requiring at least 2 years of PCU or ICU experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) in an acute hospital setting
• Cares for high-acuity medical and surgical patients including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications
• Average patient load of 3 high-acuity patients
• Proficiency required with advanced hemodynamics including pressor titration, antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombolytics, A-line, CVP, EVD, orthopedic traction, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and infection prevention protocols
• Epic EMR experience required
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 13-week contract
• Nurses with large-scale adult PCU experience or community hospital ICU experience are well-suited for this role
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Competency testing must be completed within 24 hours of consideration — ensure an up-to-date email address is on file
• Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
• Any RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
• No blocked scheduling
• Travel pairs are not permitted for this position

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Active US SSN required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
• AHA or RQI certifications required, including BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Flu vaccine required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal or religious declinations will not be accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
