Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Alabaster, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an Alabama or Compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Day shift position with hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM on a 3x12 schedule
• 51-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit on the 3rd floor
• Patient population includes Med/Surg, orthopedic, and telemetry patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Equipment used includes telemetry monitors, IV pumps, and BiPAP
• EMR is Epic
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to like units within scope, including facilities within a 25-mile radius
• 13-week contract
• Navy scrubs required
• Nail polish is not permitted
• AHA-issued certifications only — American Red Cross certifications are not accepted
• Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, 252-bed faith-based facility managed by Orlando Health
• Facility is a recognized Primary Stroke Center with capabilities in cardiovascular, orthopedic, neurological, oncology, and surgical care

Requirements

• Active AL or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA only) required
• Current NIHSS certification (AHA only) required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg, orthopedic, and telemetry experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
