Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/Med-Surg hybrid unit position requiring AHA BLS and ACLS certifications, with night shift availability and a 100-mile radius requirement.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hybrid PCU/Med-Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratios are 1:7 on the Med/Surg side of the hybrid unit
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:30–07:00)
• Rotating weekend requirement
• Floating is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning (CBLs)
• Contract nurses are expected to actively support nursing student clinical education alongside their regular patient care duties
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Must be competent in both Med/Surg and PCU nursing
• Two supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
