Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in West Virginia, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, AHA-approved certifications, and a WV or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Labor & Delivery unit in a community hospital setting
• Day shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, with on-call depending on census
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Blocked scheduling is accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the same rate
• Former permanent employees of this facility must wait 2 years after their last date of permanent employment before being eligible as a traveler
• Current employees of any Vandalia Health System facility (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, and affiliated hospitals) are not eligible for a travel contract at this facility
• Orientation is held every other Thursday
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Any missed shift requires a make-up shift within the same work week or pay period when possible
• Any previous probationary actions on license will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required; pending license acceptable
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• AHA-approved certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM, and AWHONN
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (October–March); declinations not accepted
