Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with 2+ years of mammography experience and ARRT(M) certification for a 13-week travel assignment at a JCAHO-accredited regional hospital serving the Western Navajo Nation in rural Northwestern Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Position is located in the Radiology Services department of a 68-bed general and surgical hospital
• Serves a culturally diverse patient population of approximately 40,000 Native American beneficiaries across a 4,400 square mile service area
• Procedures include diagnostic mammography, stereotactic biopsy, ductograms, needle localization, and breast tomosynthesis
• Schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 4x10-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• Perform diagnostic mammography and special procedures including stereotactic biopsy, ductograms, needle localization, and breast tomosynthesis in collaboration with a Radiologist
• Fingerprinting must be completed and cleared prior to start; this is handled during the compliance process and done via mail
• Orientation is held every 2 weeks
• COVID and flu vaccine exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form
• Facility is located in a very rural area of Northwestern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau; candidates should be prepared for a remote work environment
• Contractor housing may be available but is not guaranteed; a housing application must be submitted well in advance of the start date
• Shared contractor housing does not permit pets or family members

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of mammography experience and 2 years as a Radiologic Technologist
• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiology
• ARRT(R) and ARRT(M) certifications required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Experience with stereotactic biopsy, ductograms, needle localization, breast tomosynthesis, and assisting radiologists with special procedures
• Arizona Radiology license required if applicable
• SSN required for consideration
