Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for an adult rehabilitation services unit, requiring an active OT license and AHA BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Adult Rehab Services unit in a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Diverse patient population including evaluation of independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, and psychosocial skills
- Perform evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans with short- and long-term goals under physician direction
- Design and fabricate adaptive equipment and orthotic devices, and provide instruction in joint protection and body mechanics
- Educate patients and families on goals, progress, and home therapy plans, and assist with discharge planning
- May supervise OT students
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may work a maximum of 26 weeks total (including any extensions), after which a 6-month separation period is required before becoming eligible for a new contract
- Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon accepting an offer
Requirements
- Active Occupational Therapist license (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current BLS certification from the AHA
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Full DOB required for consideration
