Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical-Surgical position requiring IV starts, wound care skills, and night shift availability with every other weekend requirements.

Responsibilities

• Hospital Medical-Surgical unit setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 7pm–7am (3x12-hour shifts), with an option for 4x12s
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Charge nurse responsibilities on an as-needed basis
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius of the facility are considered, though a different pay rate applies
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of contract confirmation — no RTO will be approved after the contract is confirmed
• Schedules cannot be adjusted once the contract is confirmed
• Accommodation around other per diem schedules or contracts is not available
• A 30-minute meal break is required each shift — no skipped meals permitted

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Fit test required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Proficiency in IV starts, isolation precautions, and wound care including wound vac required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
