Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring scrub and circulate skills, prior Level 1 trauma experience, and at least 1-2 prior travel assignments.

Responsibilities

• Large OR department with 25 operating rooms handling 60-80 cases per day
• Service lines include orthopedics (total joints), general surgery, robotics, organ transplants (kidney), ENT, oral/maxillofacial, vascular/thoracic, urology, and pediatrics
• Adult and pediatric patient populations, including neonates
• Night shift: 7p-7:30a, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week)
• Weekend requirement: 2-3 shifts per 6-week schedule period, typically Saturday or Sunday (not both)
• Weekends typically run 5-6 rooms on Saturday and Sunday; Sunday is all urgent cases with 4 rooms; nights run 2 ORs
• No on-call requirement on the night shift
• At least 1 holiday required
• EMR: Epic (OpTime module); experience required
• 13-week contract
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (must be AHA-issued)
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Must be able to both scrub and circulate
• Prior travel nursing experience required (minimum 1-2 completed assignments; this cannot be a first travel assignment)
• Neonate and pediatric OR experience preferred
• Epic OpTime experience required
