Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position working nights with float and potential charge responsibilities in an adult and geriatric care setting.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital Medical Surgical unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating is required
• Charge nurse responsibilities on an as-needed basis
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are eligible to apply, though a reduced pay rate applies
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of contract confirmation — no RTO will be approved after the contract is confirmed
• Schedule adjustments are not accommodated after contract confirmation, including conflicts with other per diem schedules or contracts
• A 30-minute lunch break is required and may not be skipped

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current Fit Test required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Proficiency in IV starts, isolation precautions, and wound care including wound vac management
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
